Stand up Paddling Micos Waterfalls

Ciudad Valles, Mexico

Description

Added by Heather & Aaron Koch

This amazing section of river is like a natural Disneyland. Slides, jumps and deep pools. It has fantastic access and plenty 0f good food close by.

Micos section of the Rio Valles starts at the power plant just above El Plantanito.  There are stairs that take you down to the base of the 60 foot El Toro waterfall.  From the pool below El Toro you will start your adventure.  There are 7 different waterfalls, each with its own personality and multiple descent lines.  These falls can be paddled in a kayak, ducky, paddleboard or even jumped just wearing a PFD.  There are secret caves to explore and the option to jump the same falls multiple times.  After the last long cascade you will be at the park in El Platanito.  From this park you can climb the stairs and walk back to where you started.  Its a 10 to 15 minute walk.
