Los Cerritos is one of the best beaches for surfing in B.C.S. It is also one of the few swimmable beaches in the area. It's a great place to learn how to surf because it's not crowded. My friends and I rented an inexpensive cabana on the beach for 7 nights and took up surfing lessons with Collins Surf. Irak Collins is a local celebrity and former Mexico Surf Champion. December is the best season for big waves. Come in spring or early summer for calmer seas. Come June, it gets pretty darn hot there. Or, come and see the local dog surfing competition with Perry and his surfing dog. (http://dogsurfcompcerritos.com/)

Todos Santos and El Pescadero truly are hidden gems. I would hate to see any of these areas become more developed than they already are. So, skip the resort, bring your tent and beach camp, or bring your van. Or, stay with a smaller, local resort. There are plenty of ways to avoid supporting big, rich resorts.
