Description

Rio Antigua is a class 3/4 paradise for Stand up Paddle boarding. Hot Springs and endless warm rapids in a beautiful tropical canyon.

Starting in the town of Jalcomulco, Veracruz you will find an amazing river adventure.  The paddling starts in downtown with a big beach and plenty of food and drink nearby.  This is a downriver trip so you will need a chauffeur or leave a car at the take out.

this run starts with some of the biggest rapids first.  After some great whitewater there are longer pools to relax in.  if you choose to keep going past the take out in Apazapan you will find 30 more miles of rapids.  In this lower section is the Carrizal Hot Springs.

You know you are getting close to Apazapan when you see the pedestrian hanging bridge.  There is also an amazing surf wave just before the bridge that can be walked to if you dont have a second vehicle to make the downstream trip.
