Distance: 7.4 mile loopElevation gain: 990 ftDuration: Around 3 hours depending on what parking level you start onAn easy hike with amazing summit viewMultiple lookout points and trail optionsLeaving your hike you'll pass the Sugarloaf Winery where you can stop in for wine, games, cheese plates, and wood-fired pizza

Sugarloaf Mountain sits pretty between Maryland farmlands next to the beginning of Blue Ridge Mountains. There are a number of loops and summit trails on both sides of the mountain to create your own unique hike. I like to begin the 7.4 mile loop at the Main Gates parking lot, heading up the White trail to the east overlook. Take the orange trail to the summit, then back around down the blue and white trails. The best view is on the blue trail at the White Rocks, where there are plenty of large rocks to rest and eat on while looking out over vast farmlands. Get there early to avoid crowds! Overall beautiful hike, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a day hike in Maryland.

And hey, if you want just a relaxing day; park at the top parking lot, check out the views, then drive back down and stop at Sugarloaf Winery just down the road and sip wine while staring at Sugarloaf Mountain.
