Round Bald & Miller Homestead

Abundant sunshine. Rolling, grass-covered, bald summits. Wildflowers and wild blueberries by the millions, and nearly endless views from the trail. Few places on the Appalachian Trail’s southern stretch rival the beauty of Roan Mountain.

My life long friend, Etta and I left out early that morning for Roan/Carver's Gap.  It was an absolutely beautiful day for an adventure!!  This was my first trip to Roan and it most definitely did NOT disappoint!!

We only hiked to the first bald but spent a good part of the day just soaking up the beautiful scenery and enjoying a peaceful lunch at the top of Round Bald!

After leaving this beautiful place we decided to continue in our adventure and go to Miller Homestead which was icing on the cake for this trip!  Miller Homestead is a historic home located near Lansing, Ashe County, North Carolina. The house was built about 1905 and was a great finish to our little adventure this day!
