Description

Added by Kristian Conway

Rather easy hike to enjoy panoramic views of the Daniel Boone National Forest and a historic structure.

Starting at the trailhead off of KY 90 (Parking area is small but often empty), hikers will continue on trail #2. It is approximately 0.5 miles to the tower and then 0.5 miles back to the trailhead, only gaining roughly 100 feet of elevation near the tower. The tower is a Historic Fire Tower that was originally constructed in 1977 and then renovated in 2008. It is normally locked so visitors can only climb up the stairs but cannot gain entry to the observation deck. However, tours of the actual tower and entry are provided on select dates. Make sure to visit the Cumberland Falls State Resort Park website for information regarding these dates: http://parks.ky.gov/parks/reso...
