This is an easy find right off of Hwy 801 in Salt Lick, Kentucky. During non-peak times you'll find a glimmering picturesque swimming area all to your self.

Cave Run Lake is a popular man made 8,270-acre reservoir located just south of Morehead, Ky right off of route 801. For an easy day trip park at Billy Branch Picnic area, follow the short woodsy yet well marked trail down to the rocky waters and bask in the beauty of these blue and shimmering waters. Be careful when entering the water, there is no beach access at this particular spot so take caution when dipping into the chilly waters from the slippery rocks. There's a quick drop off so being a proficient swimmer is best.
