My personal favorite lake

Perfect chill spot

By: Jen Fuhrman + Save to a List

I don't even remember what made me decide to do this hike, but it may be one of the best experiences I've ever had. I first hiked this lake around fall time of 2015, before the road was closed off for the season. It is a seasonal hike, which is sort of a bummer. However, it makes me enjoy the time I get to go to it even more. Depending upon the snow melt, the road usually opens up around May or June time. Also depending upon weather, it closes about mid or late October. I try to go whenever I can. One of the most beautiful hikes I've ever been on. It's like you're in a completely different world back there. So much variety to see along the way. If you're a little more ballsy, you may consider venturing down the unmaintained portion of the trail. There you can climb to other lakes hidden up top by the peaks. Little more risky as you are climbing big boulders. Totally worth the cautious trek, but not for everyone.
