My Perfect Picnic Birthday Party

It's finally here, my birthday! Even though not that glad since I'm getting closer to the thirties, I still love this day as it makes me feel more special, beautiful and loved, especially when gathered with my closest. Simply put, this is not an ordinary day for me.

Jokes, laughs, fun, andsome more serious conversations here and there, this is what happenswhen we gather together, and I can't wait for Saturday to come.

This year I have decidedto celebrate this big day for me in a different way, so instead ofgoing to a fancy restaurant, I decided to spend the day with my lovedones outdoors. To be more precise, I plan to organize a picnic partyin the closest park, and spend quality time chit-chatting and havingfun. I've made my own research about what should I put in my picnicbasket (baskets in my case), and believe me there were so many thingsthat I didn't know I need when planning a party like this.

Miscellaneous

Let's start with themust-have items when going picnicking. The first one is a picnicblanket, and you must choose one that is large enough tocomfortably hold the food and the picnic-goers. I'll choose thetimeless checkered picnic blanket since it reminds me of the dayswhen my sister and I were having our own picnic in our backyard.Regarding the material, I'll stick to the one made from polyester asit is more durable and thicker, perfect for picnics in the park.

The second thing isobvious, but I must mention it as without it, you won't be able tothrow your picnic party – the picnic basket. Since I need more thanone, I'll make sure I choose lightweight ones with lots of room forstoring more things.

Food & Beverages

When it comes to the food, sandwiches and some finger food that canbe eaten without utensils is preferable. What I won't include in mysandwiches will be mayonnaise since the weather is warmer and I don'twant my loved ones to get poisoned by food.

Since different food requires to be stored under differenttemperature, I'll make sure to keep everything cold with re-freezableice packs.

Regarding the drinks, I'll bring both adult and kid-friendlybeverages for my two nieces, and lastly, I'll make sure I won'tforget to bring salt and pepper in order to allow everyone to seasontheir food to their liking.

Tableware

Since there are going to be lots of people, I'll buy plastic oreco-friendly paper cups and dishes, and if needed, I'll also investin some reusable utensils. Depending on the food I'm going to bring,I will see if I need a cutting knife and in case I do, I would alsotake a cutting board for slicing the bread or the cheese.

Since I'm going to buy several bottles of different types of winethis means that I'll also need both corkscrew and bottle opener. Thelast thing what I never ever thought about was napkins. I'll makesure I won't forget them in my kitchen (chuckles).

Clean-up

And lastly, as I want everything to be neatly organized, I'll make sure not to forget trash bags, wipes, and paper towels for mopping upspills and wiping plates, containers, etc.
