Description

Added by Thomas Ostapchuk

A secluded and stunning coastal hike to Cinque Terre. Pass an ancient Roman lighthouse and have your breath taken away by the Mediterranean Sea.

Hike to Monterosso al Mare from Levanto, and get a breathtaking first look at Cinque Terre. This is the only free hike before the Cinque Terre visitor pass is required.

The Hike - 2.5 - 3 hours

You will pass by a few villas before going onto the isolated coastal trail. The trail is easy to follow until you get brought to the main road. From there, keep an eye to the right by a street sign where a handwritten sign points you back onto the trail from the road.

At the last high point while overlooking Monterosso al Mare and the Cinque Terre coastline, a small side trail to the right will lead you to the ancient lighthouse. Going down the trail will eventually lead into a switch back road to take into town.

Head to the beach when you get there, you earned it!
