5.3 Mile Hike3,400 elevation gainSpectacular views, great exercise, beautiful wildlifeOffers a full service restaurant for lunch and a beer at the top

This is about 5.3 mile hike gaining over 3,400 feet in elevation.

Head past the main shops to the right of River Run for the trailhead.  Starting at 5750 feet in elevation from the Bald Mountain Trailhead the first 2 miles of the trail are narrow and lush.  Mile 2.5 onwards opens up to a cat track to climb up to a few different ski runs all the way to the top of the mountain where you are greeted by beautiful panoramic views of the Rockies.  Take the Christmas Chairlift down to The Roundhouse to get some food and an ice cold beer. There is seating available indoors and outdoors.  To finish off the hike take the gondola down to the base of the mountain (free of charge if you hiked up) and enjoy the view down (weather permitting).

This hike offers wonderful views of the valley and many wildflowers.  The route is mostly dirt with some loose gravel in a few spots.  Be sure to bring a windbreaker or jacket due to the ~20 degree temperature drop from the base of the mountain to the summit.

There is another option to not summit the mountain cutting out a little less that a mile. There will be a fork in the trail veer left where that path directs you to The Roundhouse, open 11am-3pm, 7 days a week.
