Natural rock formation just off the side of the road. Interesting to see and to photograph.

This wind carved formation is right off the side of the road. It takes about 40 minutes to get to it off the freeway by Twin Falls Idaho. The Rock is about 48 ft X 40 ft wide but the base is only 3 ft X 17 inches wide. It's a short hike/climb to the base of the formation. Nearby is a county park that is in the Salmon Falls Creek Canyon. Beautiful area and worth the stop even if it's short.

How to get there:

From exit 173 for Twin Falls, Idaho head south onto US-93 S. Turn right onto US-93 ALT/4100 N/Pole Line Rd. Continue to follow US-93 ALT for 8 miles. Continue onto US-93 S. Turn right onto E 3700 N Rd. Continue for about 20 miles onto Balanced Rock Road. After you pass through the canyon and the county park, Balanced Rock will be on your right. There is a sign pointing to the rock on the left side of the road with some information.
