Day hike or overnight trip.Distance: 10 mile roundtripTrailhead Elevation: 6710'Sawtooth Lake Elevation: 8430'Best in mid-late summer. I went in late June and there was still snow at the top.

Great day hike. Starts at the Iron Creek Trailhead by the Iron Creek Campground. The parking lot fills up on weekends so be sure to get there early. The trail starts off nice and easy with great scenic views looking up at the Sawtooths. At the Aspen Lake junction follow the path to the right, this is where the hike becomes more intense with steep switchbacks. When you reach the top there will be a small pond, go just past it to see Sawtooth Lake. Take a break, enjoy lunch, snap some photos, and then good luck to your knees on the way down!
