The first part of the hike takes you past Pettit Lake, to your left. This lake is used for recreation and is a nice place in its own right.

As you continue along the trail, you will cross about six streams, although they are not deep enough to be of any concern. There is also a 1.5 mile stretch of switchbacks where the trail becomes rocky.

After reaching a small pond, you will then approach the larger Alice Lake, a half mile away – you made it, so enjoy the fruits of your labors!

If you have the energy, hike further to Twin Lakes, a few miles past Alice Lake, for a breathtaking view.
