A nice hike along a lake with little to no elevation climb, with an optional scramble up rocks to a waterfall at the end.

From Hotel Flokalundur, drive east along Highway 60 until you cross a bridge. The parking area will be on the right just after the bridge. The trailhead is directly across the road.

The trail will follow along the rocky lake beach and weave in and out of the brush. Wooden post with red painted tops mark the path; these will end at the river. For an extra challenge (and better view), find your way up the river to get a look at the waterfall. The base of the waterfall is a great place for lunch before heading back.
