Camp at Morefield Campground

Mancos, Colorado

Description

Added by Haley Baker

A gorgeous campground in the heart of Mesa Verde National Park.

Morefield Campground is located 4 miles inside of Mesa Verde National Park. There are 267 sites in the campground, and it has tent-only loops. There are also 15 full-hookup RV sites, with many more able to fit RVs. Reservations are recommended, but are not required; the full-hookup sites are the first to fill, but you should have pretty good luck getting a tent site without a reservation.

There are several hikes that leave from the campground itself, making it a perfect hub for a weekend full of exploring. The campground is located in a canyon full of Gambel Oak scrub, native flowers, deer, and wild turkeys.

The camp store on site has 24 hour laundry and shower facilities, as well as a fully stocked store - food, toiletries, liquor, and souvenirs. Every morning there is an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, so make sure to plan to eat there one morning!

The campground is only open from April 13-November 1. From April 13-April 26 and October 19-November 1, the campground is primitive camping only, though there are still comfort stations available.

From April 27-October 18, it is a full service campground.
