An amazing place for photography and hiking - Gold Camp is littered with amazing trails and beautiful tunnels.
Gold Camp road is one of Colorado Springs most iconic roads. It follows the side of Cheyanne mountain to about 8000 ft in elevation. Along the way there are many pull-offs and trail heads to explore.
There is also two tunnels dug out through the rocks (the most famous part of Gold Camp road). These tunnels make for great photography and exploration.
If you are looking for a fairly difficult but beautiful hike or mountain bike ride, make sure to check out Captain Jacks trail head. There are two variations of the trail, one that is shorter (3 miles), and another that is longer (7 miles). If you are looking to take the shorter variation, cut off Captain Jacks trail at High Drive. This will take you back to the lot.
