Point Reyes Secret Beach, Amphitheater and Cathedral is located in Point Reyes National Seashore near Limantour Beach. This is an out-and-back coastal hike along the beach, which will shrink as the tide comes up. It is best to arrive at the Crater and Amphitheater when the tide is going out close to 0.0 or a negative tide to give yourself a little time to take everything in before hiking back up the beach to your car. Enjoy viewing the location, but don't stay too long so that you can make the hike back up the beach before the tide gets too high to get around the points where you need to climb over the rocks.

Note that in the final 0.4-miles of the hike to Crater (2.7-miles in), just after Sculpture Beach, there will be a 6-10 foot climb over rocks and then a climb down to continue along the coast to Crater. Consider bringing gloves if you have them.

Dogs are not permitted on this adventure. Per NPS.Gov, they're allowed on Limantour Beach, but not on as the adventure goes further south beyond the beach.

CAUTION:
Make sure you know the local tides before you go on this adventure so you plan for plenty of time to hike back to your car before the tide rises too high.
