Now, this could be anywhere in the state of California. Although, for me, it’s Mammoth Lakes. After exploring Yosemite National Park, we decided to head to the Eastern Sierras to see what it had to offer.
We were blown away when we reach the Mammoth Lake area. Previously I had only known Mammoth Lakes for its unbelievable ski seasons. I was completely unaware that this place was so beautiful in the Summer. The abundance of lakes, wildlife, nature and the people that call this place home. Everyone
seemed so happy and active, I instantly fell in love with the place.
We spent a few days driving around exploring the area, Kayaking the lakes and taking it all in. After Mammoth's ridiculous ski season there was still a ton of snow around and the ski hill was still open, in June! This just added to the beauty of the place. Crystal clear lakes, golden light and snow capped
mountains. Seems like paradise to me.
Just a few miles north from Mammoth is June Lake and the June Lake Loop. It's an incredible scenic drive past lakes and mountains which you definitely shouldn't miss. We spent a day relaxing in the lake, floating in the tubes and sipping on ice cold beers. It was one of the best days of the trip without a
doubt, and one I'll never forget. We finished the day with a drive around the loop for some golden hour shots before stopping for an ice cream in the June Lake Village.
Hopefully you enjoyed this short story of my time in Mammoth Lake and you consider it as your next summer vacation!
