Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park

Chasin Waterfalls

By: Billy Carroll + Save to a List

Today March 17, 2018 I visited Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park in Manchester continuing my "Chasin Waterfalls" series.  About an hours drive down I-24 from Nashville with easy access from the highway I found a delightful park with lots of things to see and do.  Of course my main reason for going were the Waterfalls and Old Stone Fort delivered!  I first checked in at the Museum and was greeted by a polite and knowledgeable young lady who after some conversation provided me with a park brochure and verbal directions and I was off!  The park has a total of three "official" waterfalls, Bluehole Falls, Big Falls, and Step Falls.  There is also what looks to be a man-made falls behind the Museum.  I really should have gotten more information and paid more attention!  I can tell you that I was able to access all three falls will little difficulty with Step Falls being the most difficult  I spent 5 hours in the the park taking pictures of the Falls and hiking the Nature Trail.  Being such a short drive and easy access I plan to return soon and often!  As I do I will add to the story!  Hope to see you there!
