Sometimes Getting Lost Leads to an Amazing Campsite

A perfect spot in perfect conditions.

By: Bertrand Lanneau + Save to a List

A few months ago my girlfriend and I were selected by a french rental car company (We-Van) to travel all around Europe in a brand new campervan for 6 months. It was not our first time using the service, we did it few years ago in Australia, but this time around we have to report everything and post everyday on Instagram, Facebook and on a website. Last but not least, we will publish a book about our amazing trip (only in french).

We started this amazing adventure in Ireland and four months later, we are in Greece. I'll let you guess which countries we went to (or you can follow me and you will have the route...!).

The thing with vanlife is to find a new spot every night. Not only a good spot but the best you can find. Here, to be honest, we got lost. We were looking for some roads near the ocean and we somehow ended up here.

The small harbor of Errislannan is an amazing place to spend the night when the few locals are not here of course. But the ones we met were incredibly welcoming and nice.

We parked in the harbor with this amazing view and shared an incredible homemade potato omelette with ceps. What a great adventure!

We want to acknowledge and thank the past, present, and future generations of all Native Nations and Indigenous Peoples whose ancestral lands we travel, explore, and play on. Always practice Leave No Trace ethics on your adventures and follow local regulations. Please explore responsibly!

Do you love the outdoors?

Yep, us too. That's why we send you the best local adventures, stories, and expert advice, right to your inbox.
