Making New Friends and Chasing Waterfalls in Bend, Oregon

New friends, beer, coffee, food, and waterfalls, yup the perfect weekend.

I've been in photography for a couple years now. I started my work in the wakeboarding industry since my life basically revolved around riding and shooting with my friends every day. I was hoping for the opportunity to travel through that work. That didn't really work out. So I've taken it upon myself to get out and explore on my own. This is my first year shooting outdoor/adventure photography and I'm so still trying to make new friends and contacts in the industry. So naturally I was pretty stoked to get in touch with Ruffwear and get the chance to work with them!

I've been thinking about a trip up to Bend for a while, but when I found out they have their offices there, I made the trip happen and I set up a meeting with them! It was really cool getting to see where everything happens and to see that they were stoked to have us there! I've had the chance to work with a number of different companies, and so far they are at the top of my list of favorites! Jack got hooked up with some new toys and swag and after saying our goodbyes we made our way out to explore!

First on our list of stops was Koosah and Sahalie Falls. They're both pretty close to each other on the Mckenzie River. It's a nice hike along the river linking the two falls. It gave us the perfect chance to test out our new stuff from Ruffwear!

We stopped between the waterfalls and heated up some coffee from Libra Coffee and kicked it for while enjoying the sights and sounds of the river rushing past.

Koosah Falls is one of my favorite waterfalls that I've ever been to. There's a path down to the water that's a little sketchy, but once you're down you won't regret it. Be prepared to get wet though!

We made it back to Bend and got some food and coffee! Or should I say coffee and food? We stopped at BackPorch Coffee to get our fix before we made our way over to Deschuttes for beer and dinner!

We went to Proxy Falls as well, however I did not get anything I liked other than some GoPro footage. Sooooo....I have no photos to share with you all from that trip. However I will eventually have a little highlight reel from the trip...EVENTUALLY!

I love Oregon and I can't wait to go back. Shoot, I wouldn't even mind moving to Bend!
