Mountain Biking at Fountainhead Regional Park

By: Ashley Barlow + Save to a List

Fountainhead Regional Park is a park in the Fairfax region that more than lives up to the lofty billing. I went to Fountainhead for challenging mountain bike trails, and was not disappointed. This park features over 11 miles of well kept mountain biking trails. With 3 different tier levels to choose from, this park gives all levels of mountain biking experience something to offer. The trails were challenging, and just what I was looking for. I met a lot of very friendly bikers in the area, who gave me tips and pointers on other trails I should check out. I was even told I was brave for being out there! The first photo is a view from the trail. It was a bit of a trek to get up there and the photo more than makes up for the challenging ride.

The second photo is near the bottom of the trails. The mirror like sheen of the water contrasted very well with the bright moss and dying leaves, and definitely left me wanting to spend more time in this park.
