Description

Added by Layne Allison

This isn't your typical roadside historical marker. The rich history behind the cabin and its owners attracts people from all over. With the beautiful Grand Teton mountain range towards the west, this small stop makes for an unforgettable memory.

While making my way along highway 191 on the east side of the Grand Teton range I noticed a small turn off with a sign saying Cunningham Cabin Historical Site. Being curious, I made my way through the thicket and came upon this beautiful historic, rustic, deserted cabin with a magnificent view of the Tetons towards the west. The time it took to turn off and hike to the cabin itself was well worth it. The history behind the cabin and its residence is well worth the research as well. Google will provide many sources regarding the history behind the area and cabin. This isn't your typical road side historical marker!!!
