Explore Bluegill Bay County Park

Wausau, Wisconsin

Description

Added by Tammy Molepske

This park in residential Rib Mountain, off the main shopping area, offers a respite to the fisherman, bird watchers, relaxing/grilling/strolling park dwellers.

Take Cloverland or Parrot Avenue off the hustle of Rib Mountain Drive in the Southern community of Wausau to enjoy access to the Wisconsin River and broadened Lake Wausau. This park provides many amenities, plenty of parking, a boat launch, shoreline trails, shelters, grills, benches and picnic tables. Lake Wausau welcomes all forms of fishing including healthy sized muskies that put up a fight. If tubing, water skiing or sand bar chilling are more your speed, there are plenty of on-water spots to occupy. For the land dwellers, egrets and herons are regular visitors to watch and photograph. The local library even has a featured book trail to keep the younger crowd engaged, a cool idea that connects the love of reading with nature.
