Get amazing views of Diablo Lake. Snag a large campsite right by the lake. The sites are first come first served. Duration: Overnight.

Diablo lake is the perfect place to camp if you're looking for solitude and natural beauty. It's northeast from Seattle in the North Cascades.

Colonial Creek Campground has large camp sites right on the lake. It is first come first serve, however check out is at noon so arrive around 11:30 to snag a site when people are packing up to go home. There are several hiking trails in this area including two near the campground, Thunder Creek Trail and Thunder Knob trail.

Also, bring your canoe or kayak to take out on the lake! This campground has flush toilet but no showers. It really is the perfect place to wind down away from our busy lives and take in all the natural beauty that surrounds you.

Camped here for my first night in NCNP and was impressed with flush toilets and clean restrooms overall. The campsite is actually on both sides of the 20 and one side is much smaller with shorter drives so makes for less RV's if you like tenting.
