Description

Distance: Intermediate about 7.5 miles round trip. Depending on the time of year, this place can change, but beautiful everytime. Duration: Day-hike.

From Seattle drive east on I-90 to exit 47 (Asahel Curtis/Denny Creek). Turn right from the off-ramp and continue 0.25 mile, then turn left on Forest Road 5590. You'll find the parking area in 0.3 mile.

Between the thick second-growth forest stands and the high alpine lake, the trail rolls along Humpback Creek, offering great views of pretty waterfalls along the creek. The water was cold as ice, very few were brave enough to completely dunk! The alpine lake was crystal clear which made the lake enjoyable to sit and eat lunch at. Lots of fish jumping and blueberries and huckleberry bushes to munch on.

Northwest Forest Pass is required. Trail isn't hard, but bring lots of BUG SPRAY. THe bugs were in full force by the lake.

Took a non-hiking friend here & it was just right for him. Buggy, but pleasant to sit by the lake and eat a snack while soaking in the sun in the summer.
