Hike or Run Lottie Point Loop

Enjoy the water, wildflowers, and Olympic views on one of Deception Pass' most popular loops.

One of the best routes to add to your itinerary when exploring Deception Pass State Park, one of Washington’s most popular year-round camping, hiking, and kayaking destinations; The Lottie Point Loop trail is a great offshoot of a larger trail system that takes you across soaring cliffsides and alongside untouched beaches for some of the purest, bluest water you’ll find in the state.

You can find the Lottie Point Loop Trail off the Pacific NW Trail on Highway 20, from the Bowman Bay parking area, or from the popular Pass Lake Trailhead, where this adventure’s stats are from. From Pass Lake, head west and then south until you reach the short Lottie Point Loop. Follow the trail clockwise for first – and best – views of the strait, and to see Lighthouse Point in the distance. Complete the loop and head back to the trailhead, or continue north to visit Bowman Bay and Lighthouse Point, both of which are highly recommended.

If your group has a quicker pace, you should consider linking together some of Deception Pass’ most popular trails like the West Beach Trail, North Beach Trail, Lighthouse Point Trail, and Goose Rock Trail. Visit the Rainshadow Running Deception Pass page for a better idea of the 25k race loop that goes through the park annually, and plot your own adventure!
