As a Wilderness Ranger Volunteer, I patrol the trails in the Mnt Baker-Snoqualmie Pass, Cle Elum and Enumclaw District. I check to make sure everyone fills out a permit, this is how the Ranger offices get their Federal Funding, by how many people explore their district.
Removal of Illegal Camp fire pits, since most folks don't know the proper way, we come in after and clean it up ourselves.Trail maintenance, nothing big like removing trees, but removing loose rocks and fallen branches from the trail. Trash removal is a must, not everyone follows the "Pack it in Pack it out" rule.Ethics, enjoy the silence and maintain it for others. Leave rocks and flowers alone so that others may enjoy them.I also still get to enjoy my time exploring and taking photos on my trips.
