Overall this was a very nice, long run. The way up the Taylor river trail looks to be an old road bed, and thus easy going. Don't miss the turn off to Otter Falls - keep your eyes open for the cairn that marks the way through the woods. We ran into a few people who hadn't taken the route description and walked right by.
After the turn off to go up to Snoqualmie lake the trail climbs quite steeply. Most of it was pretty hard packed and easy to walk on, but you did have to take care to not step in areas that had running water underneath as the snow was undercut and you could go through. Much of this part had running water on the trail, but none of it was deep enough to even wet your feet as long as you had on good waterproof hiking boots. None of the stream crossings were high enough to cause much worry. There were still trilliums and some other flowers blooming, especially at the slightly higher elevations.
There were a few blow downs, but nothing that couldn't be stepped over relatively easily. I ran into very few people beyond Otter falls.
From Snoqualmie Lake follow the trail for another 2 miles to Bear and Deer Lake, there are only a couple of sites to camp at. If you like fishing these two lakes are the best since hardly anyone visits them.
Another mile down the trail you get a glimpse of Dorothy Lake. I didn't head down to the lake since a 22 mile mountain loop run is my limit. But I did a few pics of it and headed on back.
