Just 25 minutes outside of Charlottesville, this is a great spot to take the family for the day and get some sunshine. If you are into mountain biking, you're in the right place. There are 13 miles of mountain bike trails that circle the lake. At the end of your ride, there are 2 beaches to stretch out on or go for a dip.

There are a lot of other things to do like having a picnic, fishing, boating, and more. Check out the Albemarle County website to learn more details about the park.

Swimming area is small and crowded but it’s nice to have available. Appreciated the separate parking lot to use the boat ramp. Very easy spot to put in. Relatively small area to paddle around but scenic and enjoyable nonetheless.

I was able to come here to take photographs, while my friends did their own thing. Lots of stuff for everyone involved which was nice.

This park is a beautiful place to just sit and relax. If that isn't your thing, you can go swimming, hiking, biking, or play frisbee golf. It has a little bit of everything.

The trail I went on with my sister was well maintained and took us about halfway around the lake in the center of the park. There were some gorgeous moments where the sun would fall through the trees and do its thing over the surface, and later we set up some enos and hung out in a glade. Lots of space and a good place to explore, will definitely go back :)
