Description

Added by Zach Freund

This hike follows the river all the way up to the subway. All along the trail, you get outstanding views of the canyon, and tons of small waterfalls. You also see anything from lizards sunbathing on the rocks to trout swimming in the little pools by the river.

To get to the Left Fork Trail head, head out of Zion National Park on UT-9 West. Follow this for about 14 miles where you will turn right onto Kolob Terrace Road, which you follow for about another 14 miles whereupon the trail head will be a small dirt parking lot to your right. The hike leads you down a very steep cliff into the canyon where you follow the river for around 4.5 miles, the trail is marked with lots of cairns, but no matter what you just follow the river up! Once you reach the subway, you can continue through about four or five 3-4 foot deep pools of water to a small waterfall!
