Description

Added by Christopher Horstmann

This is a steep, but rewarding hike to a quiet peak with amazing views of Heber Valley and Brighton ski resort. There are also multiple lakes within 1-2 miles of the peak that offer a refreshing swim.

Starting at roughly 10,000 feet of elevation, Guardsman Pass has plenty to offer.  A steep, roughly one mile hike to Clayton peak will be rewarded with picturesque views,  a quick walk down to Bloods Lake will offer a refreshing swim, and a loop around to Lake Lackawaxen will offer a scenic hike with another swim.  The loop around to the two lakes is approximately two miles.  And your dog can join you in all of these activities.

The trail head is south of where parking is next to a no-pollution sign.  Going down goes to Bloods Lake, while going up goes to Clayton Peak and then down to Lake Lackawaxen.
