Itinerary

Arrive in Punta Arenas

Arrive at the airport in Punta Arenas, Chile, and meet your group leader to transfer to the hotel. In the early evening, gather with the group for a briefing on the adventure ahead. Enjoy a welcome dinner tonight.

Scenic Drive to Torres del Paine National Park

After breakfast, travel across the Patagonian plains to the quiet fishing town of Puerto Natales on the shores of Seno Ultima Esperanza (Last Hope Sound). Set out on a short walk, across the valley from Cueva del Mylodon and Cueva del Medio-caves that have yielded important prehistoric finds. Tonight, travel to Lago de Grey and settle into our quaint hotel, ideally situated within Torres del Paine National Park.

See Spectacular Grey Glacier

Cross Lago de Grey by boat to reach the foot of the Grey Glacier. Our trail traces the lakeshore, offering spectacular views of the glacier, the expansive ice field, the Andes Range, and the dramatic Paine massif itself. Settle into our lodge, overlooking Lago Pehoé.

Hike through French Valley

Hike into the French valley, one of the most spectacular cirques in the Paine Massif. Walk below the glaciers that descend from the massif's highest summit, Paine Grande, and marvel at the gray granite peaks of the Cuernos del Paine, topped with fantastical black slate "horns." Take in panoramic vistas of this extraordinary sweep of mountains and spend the night in a cabin by a waterfall. Porters will carry your essentials for today and tomorrow.

Take the Paso Los Cuernos Trail

Today, follow the Paso Los Cuernos trail along the north shore of Lago Nordenskjöld, hiking at a relaxed pace between the soaring Cuernos del Paine and the sapphire lake. Continue to the entrance of the Torres mountain valley and check into our hotel.

Explore Majestic Torres del Paine

Rise early for a full-day hike to Torres del Paine, sheer walls of granite that thrust vertically into the sky. Our path cuts through beech forests and up to the barren slopes below the towers to one of the most magnificent viewpoints in the world. Before us, the towers rise majestically, and below, the glacial lake shines a brilliant shade of blue.

Depart from Punta Arenas

After an early breakfast, return to Punta Arenas by private van to meet with your afternoon flight to Santiago and continue to your next destination.
