Offered for students ages 12-14, 14-16 or 16-18, this course takes students to California’s Sierra Nevada range—a wonderland of wilderness, waterfalls, lakes and peaks. Students will learn technical skills like navigation and leadership skills like effective communication and conflict resolution. Each crew will learn and practice with the granite domes, alpine lakes and starry skies as the classroom. The course will challenge new and experienced backpackers. The length of this course varies depending on the age. Along with its single focus on backpacking, this experience allows for longer travel distances and additional opportunities to implement feedback from Instructors and crew.
