Khwai Area Of Moremi Wildlife Reserve (approx 100 kms/2 hrs drive)

We change vehicles to our open sided 4x4 vehicles and arrive at Moremi by lunchtime. Moremi rests on the eastern side of the Okavango Delta and was named after Chief Moremi of the BaTawana tribe. It combines permanent water with drier areas, which create some startling and unexpected contrasts. In the Moremi reserve one can experience excellent views of savannah game as well as bird-watching on the lagoons. There are also thickly wooded areas, which are home to the rare leopard. After lunch at South Gate we enter the park and travel to the Khwai area. This is a pure wilderness area of great beauty, with rich green vegetation, palm trees, teeming with birdlife and a vast population of wild animals. We enjoy early morning and late afternoon game drives exploring the reserve in open 4x4 safari vehicles. Our private campsite is located inside the park.

Maun (approx 100 kms/2 hrs drive)

After an early morning game drive we exit Moremi and travel back to Maun. The afternoon is free for a 1 hour scenic flight over the Okavango Delta (own expense).

Okavango Delta - Maun

Today we enjoy a full day Mokoro excursion into the Okavango Delta. Depart Maun at 07:15am and road transfer approximately 1 hour depending on water levels. Upon arrival at the mokoro boat station, a mokoro poler will be introduced to you and will be your boatman and guide throughout the excursion. We enjoy the Delta by Mokoro and nature / game walks. Late afternoon road transfer back to Maun.

Chobe River - Kasane (approx 615 kms/8 hrs drive)

We continue through Botswana to Kasane and our camp is set up on the banks of the Chobe River. Chobe is famous for its beautiful scenery, magnificent sunsets and abundance of wildlife and birdlife. The following day sunset is enjoyed on a relaxing game viewing boat cruise on the Chobe River. Optional game drives in the Chobe National Park (own expense). Chobe National park was officially declared a National Park in 1967. The park is probably best known for its huge herds of Elephants which number in excess of 50 000. The park is dominated by the Chobe River, which runs through the park and where animals are regularly spotted coming to drink. Habitats found in the Chobe National Park range from flood plains, Mopani trees, baobab trees, acacia woodlands, to verdant flood grasslands and thickets bordering the Chobe River.

To Victoria Falls (approx 90 kms/3 hrs drive)

We travel across the Zimbabwe border to view Victoria Falls - one of the most spectacular sights in Africa! Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park (otherwise known as Victoria Falls) is a UNESCO world heritage site. The Park covers 66 km2 from the Songwe Gorge below the falls in a northwest arc along about 20 km of the Zambian riverbank. Two countries - Zambia and Zimbabwe, share the magnificent falls. Nothing can compare to viewing the awesome power of "The Smoke that Thunders" for the first time. There will be plenty of opportunity to view the Falls up close and personal by traversing the many walkways in and around the rain forest that surrounds the many view points (entrance fee own account). In the wet season, be sure to wear a raincoat as the spray can give you a thorough drenching!

In Victoria Falls

Today is spent at leisure to explore this amazing area. Victoria Falls is the adrenalin capital of Southern Africa and there are many optional activities (own expense) on offer to keep you busy. These range from rhino walks to game drives in the nearby national park, scenic micro light or helicopter flights or for the more adventurous, white water rafting or bungi jumping. Victoria Falls also has many local markets where you can browse for African curios. There are several cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy a coffee or a meal.

Making our way back into Botswana we set up camp at Nata. We visit the Makgadikgadi Pans for a truly unforgettable sunset over what remains of an ancient 6500km2 lake.

Tuli region (approx 520 kms/7 hrs drive)

Traveling South we travel to the Tuli area of Botswana. The Tuli area is rich in archaeological heritage and beautiful San rock art sites have been discovered alongside numerous archaeological sites dating back from the Stone Age. Scattered artifacts are still being discovered across the reserve. It is also a great game area that is unfenced to preserve natural migratory patterns. We camp in the wilds of a beautiful, unfenced bush camp. On our second day here we enjoy a guided morning game walk, where we will have the opportunity to view wildlife at grass roots level, and a late afternoon / evening game drive to search for the many wild animals inhabiting the area.
