DAY 1: ARRIVE KIGALI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, the group will be met by our drivers/guides, after a short brief, we transfer to the hotel arriving in time for the check in. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2: DEPART FOR BWINDI NAT PARK AND AFTERNOON BATWA CULTURAL VISIT 08:00hrs, After breakfast, you depart for Rwanda/Uganda border in Gatuna and travel northwest to Bwindi impenetrable forest for approximately 4.5 hrs. You have a brief stop at the border to clear with customs and then continue to your lodge for check in. After lunch, leave for a visit of the indigenous natives living in the forest, the Batwa. The Batwa are Uganda’s marginalized people and are view with derision by most of the Ugandan Nationals. The Batwa have lived their lives to current generations by hunting and gathering in the forest. The visit to the Batwa invariably involves songs and a dance demonstration, and once the music begins you can’t help but notice that they project a genuine pride in themselves. You shall then return to the lodge late in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: GORILLA  TREKKING AND TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NAT PARK

06:00hrs: After an early breakfast, you will proceed to the National Park headquarters at to meet your guides for the day. Complete our park formalities, and then embark on a spectacular mountain tracking adventure. Once you spot them, you'll spend time  observing these gentle giant gorillas is a rare, moving, awesome and exciting adventure that will leave you with long lasting memories of a truly unique experience. The trekking will be strenuous; up to 6 hours or longer at a relatively high altitude, you’ll enjoy taking photographs after which you will descend back to the lodge. In the afternoon, drive back to Rwanda, Volcanoes Nat Park. Arriving in time and check in, dinner and overnight at your lodge.

  • Activities: Gorilla Trekking + Road transfer to Volcanoes Nat Park
  • Overnight: La Palme, Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, Sabyinyo Silverback lodge

DAY 4: DAY 3: GOLDEN MONKEY TRACKING + IBY’IWACU VILLAGE VISIT

This day is set out for Golden Monkey tracking in the Volcanoes National Park. Entering dense stands of bamboo interspersed with open glades; you will make your way deep into golden monkey territory. Guides lead visitors to the habitat of groups of ‘habituated’ golden monkeys – monkeys that have become accustomed to human presence. Though viewing is kept to a maximum of one hour, travellers can get an up-close look at the golden monkey in its natural habitat. Adult monkeys frolic in plain view, feeding on bamboo leaves and leaping from perch to perch. Females carry their young, completely comfortable among onlookers. Later visit Iby’iwacu Cultural Village a Non-Profit umbrella organization that aims at improving the lives of reformed poachers and communities around Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park through provision of conservation incentives, supporting community enterprise development and livelihood based projects. Return to your hotel to freshen up and drive back to Kigali to catch your flight back home.
