Description

Caddo Lake State Park is a small yet quaint park located in East Texas.

Caddo Lake is located on the border between Texas and Louisiana. The Canoe Trail is an intermediate 1.6 mile loop trail within Caddo Lake State Park that takes you through the bald cypress trees of Caddo Lake and at one point even meets the water edge. The trail is very moderately hiked and the often becomes overgrown. This trail is perfect for those looking to get in a relatively short but decent hike. It's also a perfect opportunity to see the wildlife and the multitude of bird species of the Lake.

The trail is not handicap accessible as there are many steep inclines. The park is dog- and kid-friendly! Lots of mosquitoes though, so be sure to bring bug spray and watch out for poison ivy.
