This is a good beginner mountain biking loop close to Columbia, SC.

This loop starts at the parking lot on the Firebreak Trail. About 1 mile in the trial hits a fire road and turns right but you will cross the road and continue on the Firebreak connector to Stewardship Trail. Take a left and continue onto the Stewardship Trail. You'll pass over two bridges, after the second one you'll want to continue to the left because the trail to the right is a more technical side trail. There will be another road crossing then eventually a right turn over another bridge. After the bridge when the trail splits you'll want to take the trail to the left. You'll come to a fork where you can go through a wash or over a bridge if there is water in the wash. The trail will run into the Midlands Mountain Trail after this bridge and you'll want to again go left. After the Spider Woman II trail there is another fire road but you will want to continue on trail to the left. Once you pass the Spider Woman II trail again you'll see a sign that shows bikes to the right. Follow the sign and continue to the right. You'll continue on to the right when another trail joins the Midlands Mountain Trail and then continue straight when another trail comes in from the left. You will climb for a while and then at the top the trail crosses a fire road. At this point you will want to turn right. The next section has many trails heading off to the right but you should stay to the left until you reach the top of this climb. The trail will continue to the right as a single track and you will follow the Firebreak Trail back to the parking lot.
