Looks like an amazing trail. Only problem is, we didn’t realize that it was bikers ONLY on even weekend days and hikers ONLY on odd days. You will be fined a minimum of $100 if you disobey this. Wasted a lot of gas coming up here only to find out we couldn’t hike. Trail had barely any cars so it wasn’t even like it was too busy for both bikers and hikers. Great trail if it didn’t have an alternating schedule.

It’s beautiful and not too hard. Perfect for those who are not necessarily expert hikers but is still fun for those who are. Be aware that there is a parking fee (around $9 per car as of 2020 for a one day pass) as it is a CO state park. But the money goes to protecting the wild life and keeping the trails nice so I don’t mind the fee.

Absolutely loved this hike! One of my top favs. However, I went in late May which was warm enough and seemed fine until I got closer to Buffalo Mountain where snow covered most of the trail. I wasn’t expecting this, so my shoes weren’t the best for the slippery ice. It’s a pretty steep drop at times next to the trail and when that’s covered with three feet of weeks old icy snow, it can be a little scary. Bring a walking stick and some good shoes and you’ll absolutely be in heaven!
