Make Newpark Resort Your Home Base in Park City

When it comes to winter skiing destinations, it's hard to beat the perfectly powdery slopes around Park City.

By: Sara Sheehy + Save to a List

Tucked into Utah's Wasatch Mountains, Park City is home to—or within spitting distance of—eight of the best resorts in the west. Throw in endless backcountry runs for those who like to make their own path through the champagne snow that Utah is famous for, and you have the recipe for a legendary ski trip.

This winter, book yourself into the eco-friendly, beautifully designed Newpark Resort. Contemporary luxury awaits at Newpark, which is the centerpiece to Utah's first LEED-certified resort community.

Be Close to the Slopes

Newpark Resort is an ideal base camp for skiing and boarding in Park City. Getting to the hotel is easy, with regularly scheduled airport shuttles to Salt Lake City, and free parking on-site.

Once you're there, you can hop on a free bus right outside Newpark's lobby and ride to Park City's Old Town, Park City Resort, and Deer Valley.

The hotel's central location also puts you 20 minutes closer than Old Town Park City to Snowbasin which is now part of the Epic Pass, or the snowy nirvana of Little Cottonwood Canyon (home to Alta and Snowbird) and Big Cottonwood Canyon (home to Solitude and Brighton).

Plus, you'll be right across the street from the Utah Olympic Park. Bobsled ride, anyone?

Bring Your Gear...or Don't

For those who have their gear so honed in that they can't imagine living without it, Newpark Resort offers on-site storage to keep your skis or board safe (and save your room from smelling like a wet locker). You'll never have to worry about who might snag your skis off your roof rack overnight, or share your shower with your snowboard.

If traveling with your gear sounds like a struggle you'd rather avoid, head to Breeze Ski and Snowboard Rentals in the Newpark Resort lobby to get geared up without the fuss. The shop even offers a 25% discount for hotel guests, as well as discounted ski tickets to local resorts.

Keep it Cozy

When you're off the slopes, Newpark Resort helps you keep it cozy and relaxed. The hotel is walking distance to a bunch of great restaurants, and the free bus into Park City's Old Town brings you to over a hundred restaurants, bars, and nightclubs.

If your legs are screaming for a break from winter sports, book a treatment at the nearby Pura Vida Salon & Spa, or slip into the hot tub on a private deck (available in the resort's suites and townhomes) and sip a glass of wine as the sun disappears over the mountains.
