Hike the Lands End Trail

2.9 Miles Round Trip - Out-and-Back Trail

Lands End Trail - Search Nearby - Added by Julien Bacal

Lands End is one of the best hikes in the city with great views of the coastline and the Golden Gate Bridge. Start either next to the golf course or closer to the beach near Sutro Baths.

The Lands End Trail is a fairly easy 3 mile hike along the coastline of SF. The highlights of the trail include access to China Beach, views of the Sutro Baths and the Golden Gate. This is a great hike if you're looking to explore the city or you want to get a fun hike in with scenic coastal views without having to cross the Golden Gate. It's also not too strenuous, making it a family-friendly hike. Keep an eye out as this path is also used by mountain bikers and trail runners.

Dogs are allowed here leash-free if kept under voice control, but leashes are recommended for the safety of your dog and others who use the trail.

Looking for a spot to stop off and picnic? Check out Mile Rock Beach along your route.

Perfect activity to do when you have out of town guest. Grab a coffee and stroll...

It can get windy on the cliffs, so check the weather beforehand and bring a sweatshirt/jacket! It's really not a hike - more of a trail walk, but there is a section with a lot of stairs so be prepared for that. There's a little store/cafe at the Point Lobos start to the trail which can be a fun beginning or end to the hike. Starting from the parking lot and ending up in Seacliff looking at the ridiculous mansions can be fun.
