Catch a Sunrise in Pinnacles National Park via the High Peaks trail

Camp overnight in Pinnacles Campground in Pinnacles National Park or arrive at the trailhead early.  It will be dark, so remember to bring a flashlight/headlamp.  Make sure to check the approximate time of the sunrise while planning the adventure.  Once in Pinnacles National Park drive to the Bear Gulch Parking lot.  While pulling in, the trailhead is to the left.

The trail sign will be marked Reservoir, Caves, and High Peaks.  Continue up the trail and follow junction signs for High Peaks.  This trip can be made shorter by coming down the Condor Gulch Trail.  Following this route leads down to the Bear Gulch Day Use Area and a short walk back to the Bear Gulch Parking Lot.  For a longer adventure continue on the High Peaks Trail all the way to the Bench Trail.  Now to the Bear Gulch Trail and back to the Trail head.

The longer option is 6.7 miles long.  While hiking High Peaks Trail and coming down the Condor Gulch Trail it is 5.3 miles long.  Hiking the complete distance of either option is up to the hiker.  Once a nice view point has been found, feel free to sit back, relax and take in the awe inspiring sunrise!
