Disc Golf at Sol Arnovitz Park

Xenia, Ohio

Description

Added by John Clairmont

Weave in and out of the woods and cross two bridges over the Shawnee Creek as you play the best 18 hole course in Xenia.

This course has some tough points, especially with some water hazards, but for the most part is very forgiving. In many places you can retrieve any discs you lose to the creek, and there aren't any areas of dense thicket or tall grasses that are prone to hide discs so well. Most of the holes are par 3, and I appreciate the variety as each hole is quite interesting and distinct. There are elevation gains/losses, creek crossing holes, field holes, and forest holes.

Perhaps one of the things I love most about the course is that it is compact without seeming overly crowded, and the flow from hole to hole feels very natural. As an added bonus, you end very close to where you started, so no long trek back to the car!

The park is well cared for and has a crushed gravel trail winding along the course. The parking lot has plenty of space despite being shared between park-goers and bikers/joggers on the paved Creekside Trail that runs adjacent to this area. There is also a practice tee, a porta-john, a picnic area, and a pavilion on-site.

Come back in the winter after it snows and you can sled on the hill by the parking lot!
