Great hike through the mountains to a nearby bald mountain!

You will start your hike off of the Cherohala Skyway. The trail-head is a small asphalt pull-off on the right if you are coming from Tellico Plains. From the trail-head the trail starts up and almost all of the trial is an uphill incline on the way there with about 700 feet of elevation change over 1.5 miles. The trail itself is an old 4-wheeling road so it is a bit rough but it is wide and very well maintained with only a few trees down on the whole trail. Near the end of the trail it starts to level out and open up towards the top. When you finally get to the top you will see a small gate and a road that leads up the bald. The road is called N. River Road during the Spring, Summer, and Fall the road is open to cars but during the winter it is closed. From the top of the bald you can see all of the valley and into North Carolina mountains.
