Otero Mesa is a stunning landscape located in southeastern New Mexico. Covering 1.2 million acres it contains some of the largest remaining grasslands in the Chihuahuan desert.

Relatively undeveloped wilderness  with opportunities for camping, hiking , wildlife watching and solitude. You will encounter many different species of desert grasses and many different species of cacti. Chollas , claret cups,rainbow cactus. Depending on the time of the day you will be able to see pronghorn antelope.  There are many species in bloom in the spring and summer. There are also several mountains good for hiking.
