Description

If you're driving near Sussex County and want a little color, stop by the largest Sunflower Maze on the East Coast! With over 1.5 million sunflowers, it's easy to get lost and not want to be found.

I stumbled upon the Sunflower Maze by accident when I was driving through NJ and was quickly distracted by the enormous yellow flowers. So of course, I had to check it out! It opens at 9AM and last admission is at 6PM. The maze is only open from around August to October for the flower bloom. 3 miles of trails are directly made in the sunflowers field similar to a corn maze, but much more colorful!

Liberty Farm also has events for kids (scare crow making or bug safari) if you ever wanted to plan an event for the family.

Here is an aerial view of the maze if you want a sneak peak.

Definitely recommend, go later in july for them to be in full bloom!

I had so much fun doing this with my family! Great photo opportunities, awesome weather, and a fair amount of shady spots. If you're allergic to bees, just watch out because they're plentiful. Make sure you get there in the late morning or early afternoon. It's probably the best way to beat the crowds. Also, dress in layers. It may be cold going up there, but once you're in direct sunlight and trekking all over the fields, you'll feel warmer. I had a fantastic time and made great use of my camera. Perfect beginning to fall!
