Description

An incredible adventure rappelling down a 100+ waterfall in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to rappel down a 100+ waterfall surrounded by beautiful scenes in the midst of the White Mountains. This adventure is organized and facilitated by Northeast Mountaineering who provide gear, guidance, and safety instruction.

You will begin your day at the Bunkhouse, a small hostel in Bartlett, NH (you can also lodge here the night before), where you will meet your guide and get fitted with gear before departing for the trail. You will then drive separately to the trail head where you will hike for about .5 miles up to Ripley Falls. The hike crosses over railroad tracks, has some elevation gain, and is very beautiful as it helps you get oriented to your adventure.

Once you reach the foot of the falls, any friends or family joining the trip but not repelling can easily find a rock to sit and watch here. You will then follow your guide up a jungle-like trail to the top of the falls, where the guide will setup all of the equipment there. 3 people can repel at a time and you have several opportunities to go!

The water is cold and you will get wet, so water-resistant layers are encouraged. Hiking shoes or sandals are required. Northeast Mountaineering provides a helmet, harness, and all ropes.
