On the Olympic Club Water Polo team we often use this facility for training in the off season. We run out to the end of the jetty (0.25 miles) then jump off the pier (really fun to scare tourists) then swim in (0.35 miles) - We call these "Park Walks' and the most I've seen someone do is 10 (@zmonsees)

I went to Bass Lake a couple months ago. The hike is amazing as it takes you along a (safe) coastal cliff trail and then up into the woods towards the lake. The Rope Swing is a blast and is at NorthWest side of the lake. Make sure you grab it on the 1st or 2nd knot from the top so you don't drag your feet on the rocks.

First week of January OB Surf+Bonfire is a must - Offshore winds, winter swell, plenty of Christmas Trees in the streets to burn on the beach.

Sit slightly to the south east of the hippo rock on a 1.5x overhead swell and get stoked the spot shifts - less crowded on the take off, cleaner section.
