This scenic and historic trail offers a getaway experience right in the middle of Atlanta's suburbs.

The first mile is the toughest but offers awesome views of Atlanta. Continuing the loop is full of descents and ascents, great rock formations and a variety of terrains. Plan to bring plenty of water and bring lunch along. The legs were aching after this one, but lots of fun!

Did this paddle with family including several children. The paddle is a good distance but not too difficult. Can swim and play at the waterfall. Rocks are very slippery and saw a couple of snakes in the water. Just be vigilant.

This trail is all about the view. It's a winding uphill hike and you earn every bit of the view by the time you reach the top.

The red trail is a short but challenging trail along Sweetwater Creek. Navigating the rocks and narrow parts of the trail can be tricky for little ones at times, but it's a great and picturesque hike. Offers learning opportunities about the confederate mill works as well.

Red Top Mountain offers well-maintained trails that are only moderately difficult and family friendly. The swimming area is great for small kids and big kids alike. In the summer just arrive early, between 9 and 11 for nice temps and low crowds. The sun stays behind the trees until after 1.
